What Are They and How Are They Different?
Curtain walls are installed outboard of the buildings floor slabs, acting like a ‘curtain’ around the building. The water, air, vapor and thermal control layers are located within the system itself.
Window walls are floor-to-ceiling window systems. These systems are installed between the floor slabs and can include panel components that cover or ‘bypass’f loor slab edges to provide a continuous window system appearance. The water, air, vapor, and thermal control layers must integrate with the surrounding building components.
